Truman State University (formerly Northeast Missouri State
University) Rugby notched a decisive win over long-time rival, the Columbia Outlaws. Truman lead 14-7 at the half, and used aggressive running and quick and clean production of loose ball in posting 35 second half points. This is the first time theTruman collegiates have defeated the Outlaws Club side in their 7 year rivalry.
The Bulls were lead by senior flyhalf Jim Rohr, who touched down for three tries and was 7 for 7 in his conversions (2 from the touch line!). Tries were also scored by junior center Chris Wright, junior wing Brian Eichholz, junior lock Jeff Gilsinn, and junior wing Mike Arnold.
The Bulls' "Killer B's" defeated the Outlaws in the second game 26-0 to make a sweep of the weekend, and getting some valuable game time for a number of beginning players.
