In the first league match for both clubs, Old White jumped
out to an early 10-0 lead in the first fifteen minutes. High 
Country's defense was strong, though, and despite an abundance
of possession, Old White could only manage one more 1st half
try for a 17-0 lead at the break. In the second half, Old White
kept the ball a little tighter and expanded the lead to 29-0 before
High Country struck back with a try and a penalty in front of the
posts. Old White finished the scoring with a try five minutes from
full-time. All six Old White tries were from the forwards with
Hooker Don Cooper and Lock Donal Walsh scoring two each.
